Hi everyone! I’m Alisha.
Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We’ve found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you’ll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to answer the question, "What are you good at?" After watching this video, you’ll be able to talk about what you’re good at doing.
Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases!
Listen to the dialogue.
Nelerde iyisin?
Diller konusunda iyiyim.
Once more with the English translation.
Nelerde iyisin?
“What are you good at?”
Diller konusunda iyiyim.
“I'm good at languages.”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What are you good at?”
That's: Nelerde iyisin?
Listen to it again: Nelerde iyisin?, Nelerde iyisin?
This Turkish sentence literally translates as “At whats good you are?”
But it means “What are you good at?”.
Now, how do you answer this question?
The pattern is:
[skill] konusunda iyiyim.
This Turkish sentence literally translates as “[skill] about good I am.”
But it means “I'm good at [skill].”
For example:
“I'm good at languages.”
Diller konusunda iyiyim., Diller konusunda iyiyim.
